[act. particle n. of 1: feminine شَاحِيَةٌ; plural of the latter شَوَاحٍ and شَاحِيَاتٌ]. One says, جَاءَتِ الخَيْلُشَوَاحِىَThe horses came opening their mouths: (S, A, K, * TA:) and so أَقْبَلَتِ الخَيْلُ شَاحِيَاتٍ. (M, TA.)
