Hence, شَامِخٌ signifies also Proud; (L, TA;) elevating the nose, from pride, or disdain: [like زَامِخٌ:] plural شُمَّخٌ: (L, K:) and ↓شَمَّاخٌ a man who magnifies, or exalts, himself much; or elevates his nose much, from pride. (L.)
