ذَأْلَانٌ

, (K,) or ↓ ذَأَلَانٌ, (ISk, S, M,) and ↓ ذُأْلَانٌ, (Ibn- 'Abbád, K,) The jackal (اِبْنُ اوَى): or the wolf: (K:) or the second word has the latter signification: (ISk, S, M:) and the last word, the former signification: (M:) the plural of the second word, having the latter signification, is ذَالِيلُ, with ل.
