أَوٌّ

The word أَوْ when made a noun. (T, K.) So say the grammarians. (T.) You say, هٰذهِ أَوٌّحَسَنَةٌ [This is a good أَوْ]. (T.) And to one who uses the phrase أَفْعَلُ كَذَا أَوْ كَذَا, (T,) you say, دَعِ الأَوَّجَانِبًا [Let thou, or leave thou, the word أَوْ alone]. (T, K.)
