مُعْتَنِزٌ

is said to mean One who does not dwell in the neighbourhood of [other] men lest something should be gotten from him: and one says, نَزَلَ مُعْتَنِزًا meaning He alighted and abode aside, or apart, from men. (TA. [See its verb.])
