تحبّس عَلَى كَذَا

He confined, restricted, limited, restrained, or withheld, himself (حَبَسَ نَفْسَهُ) to such a thing. (S, K.) تحبّس عَنِ الرُّكْبَانِ He held back from the riders. (TA.) تحبّس فِى الأَمْرِ [He withheld himself, or held back, in, or respecting, the affair]. (TA in article حوز.)
