احترز مِنْهُ, and منه تحرّز, He guarded against it; was cautious of it; synonym تَوَقَّاهُ, (S,) or تَوَقَّى مِنْهُ, (K,) and تَحَفَّظَ مِنْهُ; (A, Msb;) namely, a thing; (S, Msb;) or an enemy: (A:) as though he put himself into a حِرْز to secure himself therefrom. (TA.)
