And [hence,] (tropical:) A bird that is put in the midst of the fowler's net in order to ensnare thereby other birds: plural as above. (TA.)

[And it is also used as a verbal noun, agreeably with general analogy.] One says, لَا
مَطْمَعَ فِى بُرْيءِهِ [There is no hope for its cure]. (K in article سرط.)
