دِبْلٌ

A calamity, or misfortune; (S, K;) as also دُبَيْلَةٌ, (S, M, K,) in which the diminutive form denotes enhancement; (S, TA;) and دَبُولٌ: (K:) plural of the first دُبُولٌ: (TA:) whence the saying, دَبَلَتْهُ الدُّبُولُ: see 1, latter particle Also The state of being bereft of a child, or of a person beloved, by death.
