تغفّلهُ He watched for his unmindfulness, forgetfulness, negligence, heedlessness, or inadvertence; (S, Mgh, O, Msb;) as also عَنْهُ تغافل, (S, O,) and استغفلهُ: (TA:) تغافل [as transitive] in this sense [without a preposition] is a mistake. (Mgh.)
