اِسْتَهْلَكَ

properly signifies He sought, or courted, destruction; like اِسْتَمَاتَ: see مُسْتَمِيتَ: and see an example voce شَرْشَرَةٌ.
2.
اِسْتَهْلَكَ فِى كَذَا
He (a man) distressed, troubled, or fatigued, himself in, or respecting, such a thing. (TA.) See also 6.
