, verbal noun إِهَمَادٌ, (assumed tropical:) He stilled, or quieted. (K.)

اهمد الأَمْرَ (tropical:) He put an end to the affair. (A.)

اهمد القَحْطُ الأَرْضَ (tropical:) Drought rendered the land sterile, so that it contained no herbage but such as was dried up and broken. (L.)
