هَاءَ بِنَفْسِهِ إِلى المَعَالِى

, (S, K,) aorist يَهُوْءُ, (S,) verbal noun هَوْءٌ, (TA,) He raised his mind to high things, or objects; purposed, or aspired to, high things. (S, K, TA.) The vulgar say, يَهْوِى بِنَفْسِهِ. (S.)

مَا هُوءْتُ هَوْءَهُ I did not know it, nor desire, or mean, [to do it; i. e., I did it not knowingly, nor intentionally]. (TA.)

هُوءْتُ بِهِ خَيْرًا, (Az, S, K) and شَرًّا, (K,) and حُوءْتُهُ بِخَيْرٍ, and بِشَرٍّ, (Lh,) verbal noun هَوْءٌ, (TA,) I thought him to be possessed of good, (Az, S, K,) and, of evil. (K, TA.)

هُوءْتُهُ بِمَالٍ كَثِيزٍ I thought him to be possessed of much wealth. (TA.)

إِنِّى لَأَهُوءْءُ بِكَ عَنْ هٰذَا الأَمْرِ Verily I exalt thee above this thing; I hold thee above it]. (Lh.)

هُوءْتُ بِهِ I rejoiced in him, or it. (AA, K.)
7.
هَوِيءَ إِلَيْهِ, aorist يَهْوَأُ, He purposed, or intended, it. (K.)
