جَعْفَدَةٌ

[verbal noun of جَعْفَدَ] a compound word from the phrase جَعَلَنِى اللّٰهُ فِدَاكَ [May God make me thy ransom]. (Ibn-Dihyeh, TA.) [You say, جَعْفَدَهُ, meaning He said to him جعلنى اللّٰه فداك.]
