مَجْبَنَةٌ

[A cause of cowardice, or weak-heartedness]. One says, الوَلَدُ مَجْبَنَةٌ مَبْخَلَةٌ [Children are a cause of cowardice and a cause of niggardliness]; because one loves continuance of life, and property, on account of them. (S, TA.)
