لِحَاءٌ

Bark; and in particular the bark of a plant, or of a tree, of which ropes &c. are made.
2.
The لِحَاء of the date is [its Pulp, pulpy pericarp, or flesh; i. e.] the part that clothes the نَوَاة [or stone]. (TA.)
