, verbal noun مُمَارَاةٌ and مِرَاءٌ, i. q. جَادَلَهُ; (S, K; *) He disputed with him, or did so obstinately, &c.: (TA:) it is only in opposing [what has been said; not in commencing a disputation]. (Msb.)
