طَعْنٌ نَتْرٌ
A thrusting, or piercing, in which extraordinary force or energy is exerted, (M, K,) as though pulling vehemently that by which the weapon passes in the person thrust, or pierced: apparently a verbal noun used as an epithet: (M:) or a thrusting, or piercing, that is like a snatching unawares. (ISk, T, S.) The saying of 'Alee, recorded in a tradition, إِطْعَنُوا النَّتْرَ has been explained as meaning Thrust ye, or pierce ye, with extraordinary force or energy: and as though snatching unawares. (TA.) [See article سَعْرٌ.] Accord. to IAar, (T,) طَعْنَةٌ نَتْرَةٌ signifies A thrust that passes through. (T, K.)
