سَايءِلٌ

1.
[i. e. Asking; meaning interrogating, questioning, or inquiring; and demanding, or begging;] has for its plural سَأَلَةٌ and سُوءَّالٌ. (TA.) See سُوءَلَةٌ.
2.
It also means [A beggar; i. e.] a poor man asking, or begging, a thing. (Er-Rághib, TA.) So it has been explained as used in the Qur'an, 93:10, where it is said, وَأَمَّا السَّايءِلَ فَلَا تَنْهَرْ [And as for the beggar, thou shalt not chide him, or address him with rough speech]: or, according to El-Hasan, it here means the seeker of knowledge. (TA.)
