Journeying, or travelling, by night, or in the night, in a general sense: (M, TA: *) plural سُرَاةٌ. (TA.)

Hence, because of his going [about] by night, (TA,) السَّارِى signifies The lion; as also
المُسَارِى and
المُسْتَرِى. (K, TA.)
