Spread, scattered, or sprinkled. (TA.)

ورْدٌمُثْعلٌ [A company of men coming to water] straitening, or crowding, one another. (K.)

جَاءَ القَوْمُ مُثْعِلِينَ The people, or company of men, came in a connected, or continnous, body. (TA.)
