Also Very acid; applied to vinegar; (K;) and so ↓ثِقِّيفٌ, (S, K,) like حِرِّيفٌ applied to the onion. (S.) And أَبُو ثَقِيفٍ (tropical:) Vinegar [itself]; so named because it makes food acid. (Har p. 227.)
