وَبْشٌ

(ISd, TA,) and
وَبَشٌ (ISd, K,) sings. of أَوْبَاشٌ (ISd, K, TA) which signifies A medley, or mixed multitude; (S, A, K;) and the lowest or basest or meanest sort, or refuse, or riffraff; (A, K;) of men, or people; (S, TA;) or of troops, or soldiers; (A;) like أَوْشَابٌ; [and similar to أَشْوَابٌ, but more particular;] and said to be a plural, formed by transposition, of بَوْشٌ [q. v.]: (S) or sundry, or separate, sorts, of men, or people: (As, ISd, TA:) and of trees and plants: (ISd, TA:) or a small number, and those separate, of trees and plants. [Hence, apparently,] وَبْشُ الكَلَامِ (assumed tropical:) What is bad of speech, or language. (TA.)
