زَانَةٌ

A thing like a
مِزْرَاق [or javelin], which the Deylem (الدَّيْلَم) cast: [perhaps made of the wood of the beech, (see زَانٌ, latter sentence,) and therefore so called:] plural زَانَاتٌ. (Msb.)
