[Hence,] دَعْنِى أَتَذَوَّقُطَعْمَ فُلَانٍ (tropical:) [Let me try, or test, the character of such a one]. (TA.) And تَذَوَّقْتُ طَعْمَ فِرَاقِهِ (tropical:) [I tasted, or experienced, the savour of his separation]. (TA.)
