And hence, (Msb,) احتجر الأَرْضَ, (Mgh, Msb, K,) and ↓حَجَرَهَا, (TA,) He placed a land-mark to the land, (Mgh, Msb, K,) to confine it, (Mgh, Msb,) and to prevent others from encroaching upon it. (Mgh, TA.)

احتجر بِهِHe sought protection by him, (A, * K,) as, for instance, by God, مِنَ اشَّيْطَانِfrom the devil. (A.)
