حَاكَ الثَّوْبَ
, aor. يَحُوكُ, inf. n. حَوْكٌ (S, Msb, K) and حِيَاكٌ (K) and حِيَاكَةٌ, (S, K,) [which last see also below,] He wove the piece of cloth. (S, K.) [See also art. حيك.] Hence, حاك الشِّعْرَ, aor. as above, inf. n. حَوْكٌ, (tropical:) He wove poetry. (Mbr, TA.) And المَطَرُ يَحُوكُ الأَرْضَ, inf. n. حَوْكٌ, (tropical:) [The rain frets the surface of the ground; makes rippling lines upon it.] (TA.) حاك الشَّىْءُ فِى صَدْرِى, (K,) inf. n. حَوْكٌ, or, accord. to Az, the aor. of the verb in this case is يَحِيكُ, (TA,) [and the inf. n. is حَيْكٌ, (see art. حيك,)] (assumed tropical:) The thing became fixed in my mind. اِحْتَبَى بِهِ, (As, ISk, K in art. حيك, and TA,) i. e. He drew his legs against his belly with the garment, or piece of cloth, confining them therewith, together with his back, and binding it, or making it tight, upon them, so as to preserve him from falling, [when he sat,] like a wall.
