حَانُوتٌ

It is masculine and feminine: and is [said to be] originally حَانُوَةٌ, like تَرْقُوَةٌ: and its plural is حَوَانِيتُ: (S:) or, according to IB, it is originally حَنَوُوتٌ; then, حَوَنُوتٌ; and then, حَانُوتٌ.
