فَادَتْ لَهُ فَايءِدَةٌ

And فاد, aorist يَفِيدُ, (T, S, M, O, L, K,) verbal noun فَيْدٌ, (M, O, L,) said of property, It continued, or belonged or appertained, synonym ثَبَتَ, (T, S, M, O, L, K,) لَهُ
to him; (T, S, M, O, L;) as also فاد, aorist يَفُودُ, (M in article فود,) verbal noun فَوْدٌ: (K in that article:) or went away, passed away, or departed. (K. [But this last meaning, which I find only in the K, in relation to فاد, in this article and in article فود, may be taken from what next follows, and relate to property as applied to cattle.])

And فاد, aorist as above, (T, M, L, K, and S &c. in article فود,) and so the verbal noun, (IAar, T, L, and K in article فود,) He (a man, M, TA) died; (T, M, L, K, and S &c. in article فود;) as also فاد, aorist يَفُودُ, (S and K &c. in article فود,) verbal noun فَوْدٌ; (K &c. in that article;) and so فَازَ and فَاظَ; (TA;) i. q.
فَاتَ. (A.) One says, مَا فَادَ حَتَّى بَلَغَ
رِزْقُهُ النَّفَادَ, meaning مَا فَاتَ [i. e. He did not die until his means of subsistence became exhausted]. (A.)

فاد said of saffron, and of the plant called وَرْسَ, It became pulverized, or reduced to powder by its being bruised or brayed. (IKtt, TA.)

فادهُ, aorist يَفِيدُهُ, (S, L, K,) verbal noun فَيْدٌ, (L,) He mixed it, (namely, saffron, K,) or moistened it with water &c.; synonym دَافَهُ; (S, L, K;) from which it is formed by transposition [according to the lexicologists; but not according to the grammarians, because it has a verbal noun]; (TA;) as also فادهُ, aorist يَفُودُهُ, (T, M, L, &c., in article فود,) verbal noun فَوْدٌ: (K in that article:) and he bruised, or brayed, it, (namely, saffron, and the plant called وَرْس,) and then wetted it with water: (L in article فود:) and فَادَتْهُ
she (a woman) rubbed it (namely perfume) in water, in order that it might dissolve. (M, L.)

عَنِ فاد المَلَّةَ
الخُبْزَةِ, verbal noun فَيْدٌ; and
افادها; He removed the hot ashes from the cake of bread; synonym أَزَالَهَا (TK. [In the O and K, this meaning of these two verbs is vaguely intimated, only by the words, الفَيْدُ أَنْ
تُفِيدُ بِيَدِكَ المَلَّةَ عَنِ الخُبْزَةِ.])
