فَيَّادٌ

(T, S, M, A, O, L, K) and
فَيَّادَةٌ, (T, S, O, L, K,) in which latter the ة is added to render the epithet intensive, (T, L,) A man who walks with an elegant and a proud and self-conceited gait, with an affected inclining of his body from side to side. (T, S, M, A, O, L, K.) One says, فُلَانٌ يَمْشِى عَلَى الأَرْضِ فَيَّادًا مَيَّادًا [Such a one walks upon the ground] with an elegant and a proud and self-conceited gait, &c. (A.)

Hence, الفَيَّادُ is said to signify The lion. (O.)
