لَا يَغْتَالُهُ الشَّبَعُ, said of a hawk, (S, O, TA,) &c., (TA,) signifies (tropical:) Satiety will not deprive him of his strength, (S, O, TA,) and his vehemence of flight: meaning that he will not become satiated: (TA:) [it is said that] it occurs in a verse of Zuheyr, [but I do not find it in his Deewán,] describing a hawk. (S, O, TA.)

هٰذِهِ أَرْضٌ تَغْتَالُ المَشْىَ means (assumed tropical:) This is a land that renders unapparent in it the footing, or marching, [of travellers,] by reason of its far extent and its width: an example of the verb [in this sense] occurs in a verse of El-'Ajjáj cited voce نِيَاطٌ, in article نوط.
