جَايءِبَةُ خَبَرٍ

(tropical:) News that traverses the earth, from country to country, or town to town: (S, A: *) or i. q. طَرِيقَة خَارِقَة [apparently a mistranscription for طِرِيفَة خارقة, meaning recent news that traverses the land]. (K.) And [the plural] جَوَايءِبُ (assumed tropical:) Tidings from afar. (K.) And جَوَايءِبُ الأَمْثَالِ (assumed tropical:) Current proverbs; such as traverse the countries. (TA.)
