استجازهُ

He asked, or demanded, of him permission. (K, * TA.)

He asked, or demanded, of him [the authority or degree of a licentiate; i. e.,] a license with respect to the matters that he had related and heard [from other learned men, to teach the same]. (TA.) [See 4.]
