مَسَّاهُ بِكَذَا

He came to him in the evening with such a thing. (TA, voce صَبَّحَ.)

أَمْسَى

He entered upon the مَسَاء. (Msb.) أَمْسَى as syn. with صَارَ: see an ex. voce نَشَطَ, in a verse of Himyán, and another voce عَسَى.

أَمْسِيَّةٌ

: see أُصْبُوحَة.

أَنَيْتُهُ لِمُِسْىِ خَامِسَةٍ

: see صُبْحٌ.

مَمْسًى

a name for the مَسَاء; and the time thereof; and the place thereof; like as مَصْبَحٌ is a name for the صَبَاح; and the time thereof; and the place thereof. (Marg. note in a copy of the S, in art. صبح.)

مَسَاءٌ

Afternoon, counted from noon to sunset: (Az, IKoot, Mgh, Msb, TA:) or, accord. to some, to midnight: (TA:) contr. of صَبَاح: (S, K, Msb, &c.:) and evening, after sunset. (Mgh.) أَتَيْتُهُ ذَا مَسَاءٍ [I came to him in the evening]. (IAar, TA, art. صبح.) See صَبَاحٌ. أَتَيْتُةُ صَبَاحًا مَسَاءً: see صَبَاحٌ.

مُسْتَمْسَكٌ

A place, or thing, to lay hold of: see مَعَضٌّ.
