قَارِيءٌ

as an epithet applied to a she-camel; plural قَوَارِيءُ: see 1, former half.

Also Reading, or reciting, the Qur'an [&c.]; or a reader, or reciter, thereof: (K, TA:) and sometimes the ء is suppressed, so that one says قَارٍ: (TA:) plural قَرَأَةٌ and قُرَّاءٌ (S, O, Msb, K) and قَارِيءُونَ. (Msb, K.)

And synonym with قُرَّاءٌ, q. v. (K.)
