, (K, TA,) verbal noun مُسَاعَفَةٌ, (S, TA,) He aided, assisted, or helped, him; [like أَسْعَفَهُ;] or [so according to the K, but according to the S “ and, ”] agreed, or complied, with him, (S, * K, TA,) to perform an affair, (TA,) acting towards him with reciprocal purity, or sincerity, of love, or affection, and aiding, assisting, or helping, with him, (K, TA,) well. [Hence,] ساعفهُ جَدُّهُ (tropical:) His fortune aided him: and in like manner, ساعفتهُ الدُّنْيَا (tropical:) [Worldly prosperity aided him]. (A, TA.)
