سِبْقٌ

A competitor of another in striving to precede, to be before or ahead, to outgo or outstrip, or to have precedence: [plural أَسْبَاقٌ; and the singular is also used as a plural:] you say, هُمْ سِبْقِى and أَسْبَاقِى: (L:) and هُمَا سِبْقَانِ They are two that compete &c. (El-Moheet, O, K.)
