He became in, or upon, land, or ground, such as is termed سَرَاة: belonging to the present article, according to Er-Rághib: (TA:) or he betook himself to the سَرَاة [apparently meaning the mountainous tract so called]: (K and TA in article سرى:) it is like أَنْجَدَ and أَتْهَمَ. (TA in that article)
