استوجبهُ

He had a right or just title or claim, to it; deserved it; merited it: synonym إِسْتَحَقَّهُ [q. v.] (S, K.) See the act. particle n. below.

استوجب إثْمًا i. q. اِسْتَحَقِّهُ; (TA, in article حق;) which means He did what necessitated sin; (Ksh, Bd, Jel, in v. 106;) [was guilty of a sin;] and deserved its being said of him that he was a sinner. (Ksh.)

رَكَبَ خَطِيءَةً اسْتَوْجَبَ بِهَا النَّارَ [He committed a sin for which he became deserving of hell]. (TA.)
