خَوْفٌ

Also Slaughter: whence, وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ بِشَىْءٍ مِنَ الْخَوْفِ [And we will assuredly try you with somewhat of slaughter]; (Lh, K;) in the Qur'an, 2:150. (TA.) [See also 4.]

And Fighting: whence, فَإِذَا جَاءَ الخَوْفُ [But when fighting cometh; in the Qur'an, 33:19. (K.)
