زَايءِرٌ

A person visiting; a visiter: (S, * Msb, K: *) feminine زَايءِرَةٌ: (Sb:) plural زَايءِرُونَ, masculine, (S, K,) and زَايءِرَاتٌ, feminine, (S, Msb,) and زُوَّارٌ, masculine, (S, Msb, K,) and زَوَّرٌ, masculine, (K,) and feminine: (Sb, S, Msb:) and زَوْرٌ signifies the same as زَايءِرٌ (A, Msb, K, TA) and زَايءِرَةٌ (TA) and زَايءِرُونَ (S, A, K, TA) and زَايءِرَاتُ; (S, A, Msb, TA;) being originally a verbal noun; or, as synonym with زايءرون, it is a quasi-plural n.; by some called a plural of زَايءِرٌ. (TA.) It is said in a tradition, عَلَيْكَ حَقًّا إِنَّ لِزَوْرِكَ [Verily there is to thy visiter, or visiters, a just claim upon thee]. (TA.) [And hence,] زَوْرٌ also signifies A phantom that is seen in sleep. (K.)
