signifies The selling by measure with the cubit; not by number, and without knowing the measure. (K.) [In the CK, والجُزافُ is put by mistake for والجُزافِ.] You say, بِعْتُهُالثَّوْبَ مُذَارَعَةٌI sold to him the garment, or piece of cloth, by measure with the cubit. (TA.)
