ضَجِيعٌ

[A bedfellow]. ضَجِيعُكَ means He who lies, or sleeps, with thee; (S, O, Msb;) i. q. مُضَاجِعُكَ; (K;) which latter is likewise applied to a female; as also ضَجِيعَةٌ: and you say, هُوَ ضَجِيعُهَا meaning He is he who lies, or sleeps, with her in one innermost garment; and هِىَ ضَجِيعَتُهُ She is she who so lies, or sleeps, with him. (TA.) And [hence] one says, بِيءْسَ الضَّجِيعُ الجُوعُ (tropical:) [Very evil is the bedfellow, hunger]. (TA.)
