عِرِّيسٌ

and عِرِّيسَةٌ, [the latter the more common,] A thicket: (L:) the covert, or retreat, of the lion, (S, O, K, TA,) in a thicket. (TA.) [It is said in a prov.,]
كَمُبْتَغِى الصَّيْدِ فِى عِرِّيسَةِ الأَسَدِ
