انطبق

It was, or became, covered; (O, K;) [i. e.] it was made to be covered;] or it had the طَبَق, i. e. cover, put upon it;] quasi-pass. of أَطْبَقَهُ; (O;) and so ↓ تطبّق. (S, O, K.)

[And It became closed; said of a door, &c.

Hence,] يَنْطَبِقُ عَلَيْهِ الكَلَامُ i. q. يَنْغَلِقُ (assumed tropical:) [Speech is as though it were closed against him; i. e. he is impeded in his speech, unable to speak, or tonguetied]. (O.)
