بَذِيرٌ

is [said to be] an imitative sequent to كَثِيرٌ; (M, K;) like بَثِيرٌ, of which it is [held to be] a dialect var., or a corruption occasioned by mispronunciation. (Fr, S.) [But I think it is more probably synonym with مَبْذُورٌ, as signifying Scattered, or dispersed, like نَثِيرٌ in the sense of مَنْثُورٌ, &c.; and that for this reason it is used as a corroborative of كثير.]
