دَالٌ

One of the letters of the alphabet, (د,) the place of utterance of which is near to that of
ت: masculine and feminine; so that you say دَالٌ حَسَنٌ and حَسَنَةٌ [a beautiful
د]: the plural is أَدْوَالٌ if masculine, and دَالَاتٌ [if feminine; the latter the more common]. (TA.)
