And He brought to pass that which was a calamity; (K;) as also ↓افتلق. (Lh, TA.) One says to a man, أَعْلَقْتَ وَأَفْلَقْتَ i. e. جِيءْتَ بِعُلَقَ فُلَقَ, meaning [Thou hast brought to pass] that which is a calamity. (S, O, K. *)

And افلق فِى الأمْرِHe was, or became, skilled in the affair. (TA.)
