فُلَانٌ مُتَفَرِّشٌ لِلنَّاسِ

(tropical:) Such a one is a person who lays himself out for the service of men, or makes himself like a victim for them, (يَفْرُشُ لَهُمْ نَفْسَهُ,) in kindness for them. (A.) And فُلَانٌ كَرِيمٌ مُتَفَرِّشٌ لِأَصْحَابِهِ (tropical:) Such a one is a generous person, who lays himself out for the service of his companions, &c.; explained by the words يَفْتَرِشُ نَفْسَهُ لَهُمْ.
