تجاعلوا الشَّىْءَ

They stipulated among themselves to give the thing as wages, pay, or stipend: (K:) from جُعْلٌ. (TA.) You say also, تجاعل النَّاسُ بَيْنَهُمْ عِنْدَ البَعْثِ [The people stipulated among themselves to give wages, or pay, to such of them as should serve as substitutes, on the occasion of being ordered forth to war]. (TA.)
